Airlink resumes Joburg to George flights as others bow out

Independent regional airline Airlink announced on Tuesday that it will resume air services between Johannesburg and George from 11 August.

Independent regional airline Airlink announced on Tuesday that it will resume air services between Johannesburg and George from 11 August.

Comair and Mango have stopped flights between Johannesburg and George recently as part of suspending all their flights. Low-cost airline LIFT operated on the route for a brief period only.

"The suspension of services on the route by two other local airlines, provides an opportunity for Airlink to offer customers travelling between Gauteng and the Garden Route," said Airlink CEO and Managing Director Rodger Foster.

Due to the popularity of the Garden Route's golf courses, beaches and other outdoor recreational activities, Airlink gives passengers a complimentary 20kg checked luggage and 15kg checked sporting equipment allowance.
